    1. Voight has had such a strange career to date. Despite being in two iconic films, he does not get much respect when you think about it. I would argue that a guy like Christopher Walken is more loved than Voight these days.

  2. Damn.... that is tough. Father vs. daughter...

Angie!!! Not only is she better looking and when she's in a good film, she's really good.

I like Jon Voight as well but his bad movies are far worse than the ones Angie was in.

    1. Ah! I read it just after posting my comment. Funny that we went the opposite direction but I think I agree with you. His worst films might be worse than hers (though to be honest I haven't seen that many of them) but his best are also better than her best, so...

    2. Voight seems to be doing more and more "paycheck" films these days. Hence the truly awful films in his canon. Jolie may not have the iconic films under her belt yet, but she is the more consistent of the two.

  3. The father wins it for me, not just because he has a higher number of better performances (seriously, he even gave that one-dimensional villain in Anaconda some depth) but because his best (Midnight Cowboy) beats her best (A Mighty Heart) by a wide margin.

    1. A Mighty Heart is a film that deserved much more praise than it received. I thought Jolie did a fantastic job in it, but hardly anyone saw the film.

  4. This is tricky because you're taking a guy with a much longer career against his daughter. I'd have to go with Voight for the diversity of his roles and for his standout performances. Even in small parts like in Ali and Heat, he brings something to the table that helps the movie. I think Jolie is solid but can be inconsistent depending on the part.

    1. I must admit, though I think the film is flawed, I really like Voight's performance in Ali.

  5. Oh fun match up. I have to go with the old man though. For Deliverance alone. Wow.

    1. Deliverance is one of those films that I saw at far too young an age. It disturbed the heck out of me.
