Which do you prefer? Let us know in the comments section

  1. I haven't seen all the movies in either case, but on first glance I think 2013 is stronger. Last year has the typical Glenn Close and Meryl Streep performances for movies we've already forgotten. While that might happen again this year, I think it's a strong group.

  2. I need to see a few more of this year's nominees to have a truly informed opinion, but right now I would go with 2012. Even the one "who's that?" nominee (Bichir) did a very good job.

I haven't seen them all either but 2013 is much better

  4. Thought I haven't seen ALL of the films for both years, I think I prefer 2013 noms as Meryl Streep is not in it, ahah. Plus it's interesting to see the youngest and oldest nominees in the Best Actress category.

  5. I'm going to say 2013.

  6. I've seen only a tiny fraction from either but I'll go with 2013 because Joaquin was so good in The Master.

  7. 2013 without hesitation. Glad to see some indies getting the recognition they deserve--Beasts and SLP!

  8. 2013 is better, but I feel like the best performances of 2013 were still left out. 2011, was the same way but the performances they had in there, still weren't that amazing.
