Christmas movie characters around the dinner table

Christmastime brings with it food, family and festive fun.  Inevitably, you’ll eat at least half your weight in cake, cookies, turkey and stuffing.  You’ll trim the tree.  You’ll give and get gifts in return.  And you’ll spend time with all of those kooky members of your family (we’ve all got them!) that you might only see during the holidays.  Oh what fun it is to eat and drink with those family members you might only kind of, sort of like.

This got me thinking about some of the wacky, odd, irritating and grumpy characters that appear in holiday films.  Here are a few:

Cousin Eddie – National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Willie T. Stokes – Bad Santa

Ebenezer Scrooge – A Christmas Carol

Buddy – Elf

Harry Lyme and Marv Merchants – Home Alone

Who would you least like around your Christmas dinner table?  Let us know in the comments section.

  1. Hans Gruber, although he'd certainly class the place up.

    1. Hans Gruber is a great addition to the table!

  2. Probably the old guy who burned Clark Griswald's tree in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Uncle Eddie is just a whole lot of fun.

    1. I think good ol' Uncle Lewis is the culprit of the tree burning. He's another wacky, funny character. Uncle Eddie would certainly make Christmas dinner interesting.
