Considering I have been immersing myself in preparation for Hot Docs over the last few days I did not feel up to writing another review, let alone a non-documentary one, today. So instead I decided to have a little fun and post a few scenes from films I have seen over the years. Your job is to name the films, easy enough right? I thought so...

1 - THE NAKED GUN
ReplyDelete3 - DOGMA?
4 - CHASING AMY
7 - ACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE
8 - SCHOOL TIES
Numbers 1, 4, and 7 are correct.
Delete2 - FLIRTING
ReplyDelete9 - CRUISING
10 - BIRTH
11 - ZERO EFFECT
All four our correct. I original had Flirting and Birth in the two and three spot because of the Kidman connection. However, I figured it would be too obvious a clue.
Delete2. Flirting
ReplyDelete5. The Fall
8. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
10. Birth?
Ha, it appears someone else was answering while I was thinking it over. Guess I was right on 10, though...
DeleteYou were right on all four of your guesses. Since you got number 5, number 3 should be a lot easier now.
Delete1. The Naked Gun
ReplyDelete2. Flirting
3. The Untouchables? (My other choice is Bonfire of the Vanities)
4. Chasing Amy
7. Ace Ventura-Pet Detective
8. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
9. Cruising
10. Birth
Both of your choices for number three are wrong...otherwise the rest of you guesses are correct.
DeleteThe numbers three and six are still open. I had a feeling they would be the two toughest ones.
ReplyDelete3. Tree of Life
ReplyDeleteNope. Keep thinking along the lines of visually stunning films though.
DeleteIs #3 Angels and Demons?
ReplyDeleteNope. However, the film does have some spiritual elements in it.
DeleteBaraka?
ReplyDeleteCorrect. The young child is the more iconic image from the film but I thought it would be too obvious.
DeleteClue for number six: Both Parker Posey and Sarah Polley have worked with this director at some point. Posey more than once.
ReplyDelete"Fay Grim"? "Henry Fool"? "Trust"?
ReplyDeleteJust please don't tell me it's from the horrible, horrible "The Girl From Monday".
Right director but none of those are the right film.
DeleteThe Girl From Monday was indeed awful, I finally got around to watching it last year and was greatly disappointed. It makes No Such Thing look ten times better in comparison.

DeleteThat canted angle helped give away that it was Hartley - almost the entirety of Fay Grim is filmed that way (even more so). Drove me a bit batty.
